The Alen Air A375UV Multi Gas HEPA air purifier provides the sterilization power of two
ultraviolet lights with PCO (Photo-Catalytic Oxidation) technology which
remove VOCs, viruses and bacteria from the air and uses safe ionization to remove dust and is
ozone safe.
In addition to removing bacteria,
viruses and dangerous VOCs, the second
filter, an activated carbon filter removes pesky odors.

True HEPA Filtration in all
air purifiers
A True HEPA filter must be capable of removing 99.97 percent of the particles
that are 0.3 microns or larger from the air. It must allow, on average, only 3
particles out of every 10,000 to pass through the filter. This means the Alen
Air HEPA
purifier is very effective at filtering out allergens and asthma triggers.
This is the same technology as recommended by the US Department of Homeland
Security to remove harmful airborne particles. Tested at over 1,000% better than
the leading ionic air purifier (yes, we are really that good).

Viruses and
Bacteria are single cell microorganisms that exist everywhere. They are often
0.2 to 5 microns in diameter and most do not create an issue for people. But the
ones that can present problems are pretty bad problems:
- Staphylococcus aureus are bacteria known to cause "staph" infections.
- Klebsiella pneumonia is a bacteria that can cause pneumonia.
- Influenza, Bird Flu, H1N1 Virus
- E Coli is a bacteria that is often associated with food poisoning but it also
exists in the air and can affect the respiratory system.
Ionizer
An ion is any atom that has a positive or a negative charge. A positively
charged ion will seek a negatively charged one to unite with, have a glorious
'coupling' and then turn into something totally new and available.
Healthy environments have higher levels of negative ions, so in our commitment
to superior indoor air quality all of our purifiers have negative ionizers. A
report from Cedars-Sinai shows that some pollen and dust particles have a
positive charge and "negative ions generally lead to favorable effects, and many
individuals experience relief from their respiratory allergies." The Geophysical
Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks found that computer CRT monitors
create a surplus of positive ions and the addition of negative ions resulted in
a reduction of headaches from the test subjects.
The majority of ionic air purifiers, like the popular Ionic Breeze, with an ionizer create negative ions, which means
they have a negative electrical charge. Used alone, negative ionizers are not
effective in removing particles from the air. A HEPA air purifier with
ionization like any of our Alen air purifiers has a negative ionizer rod that
produces a small number of negative ions. It is important to ensure that an air
purifier with an ionizer does not contribute unsafe levels of ozone as the side
effects can be worse than the benefits. The Alen air purifier is ozone safe.
Photo-Catalytic Oxidation
The Alen A375UV air purifier is best in class and only air purifier out there that permanently
removes a wide range of gases, volatile organic compounds, smoke, and ammonia.
Other gas air purifiers typically use carbon, which can be a problem because
carbon stores gases which can be released at a later whereas our solution
permanently eliminates the gas/odor on contact. Exclusive targeted technology
was developed to address specific indoor air pollutants by PhD chemists and
patented.
The common indoor sources of VOC's are paint, carpeting, copiers/printers,
laminated furniture, wood preservatives, paint thinner, glues, permanent
markers, cosmetics and certain aerosols and plastics. If there is not sufficient
ventilation with the outdoor air and VOC's are present, the indoor pollution
levels can be up to 10 times higher than the outdoor air according to the EPA.
The Alen A375UV air purifier includes UV-PCO(UV Photo Catalytic Oxidation) technology to reduce
the levels of VOC's. The interaction of UV-C light and a permanent titanium
dioxide (TiO2) grid serves as a photocatalyst to carry out hydrolysis (ie.to
break water into hydrogen and oxygen). As TiO2 is exposed to UV light, it
becomes increasingly hydrophilic; thus, it can be used reduce concentrations of
airborne pollutants such as volatile organic compounds into harmless elements.
As a safety
feature, the UV-C lights and titanium dioxide grid are located on the inner most
section of the Alen A375UV air purifier to prevent the user from coming into contact with the rays
of the UV lights.
